The Best Mexican Restaurants in (or around) Atlanta

In response to Sarahs response about good Mexican food in A-town. Here are my favorites.

5. Sala - Virginia Highlands. Cool modern atmosphere, ridiculously cheap beer (2 dollar Dos Equis draft).

4. La Fonda - I go to the one in Chastain. There are a few locations. Great amount of food for the price.

3. Tin Lizzy’s - Not sure where you would classify them. Could be considered Chastain, could be Lenox. This is where you find the local celebs. Last time I went I saw some kid from the Real World. Anyway, awesome place to watch the game if you are tired of traditional sports bars. Great food and they typically have some local live music.

2. Ceviche - Roswell. Authentic Mexican food located in a whole in the wall in downtown Roswell’s Square. Eat, drink, then walk the square and check out the local art gallery or buy some ridiculously over-priced clothing.

1. Pure - Alpharetta. My absolute fav Mexican. Holy shit the food is so fucking good. Also, the restaurant used to be an auto garage, so they have a garage door that they open up to seat more people. Be warned, they will probably be packed. Buy Mojitos from the bar while you wait to be seated. Once seated, switch to pitchers of Texas Margaritas. For tequila shots, only go top self - Jose Cuervo Reserva de la Familia Tequila. It’s so good you don’t have to shoot it, literally just sip it like a whiskey. The shot glasses are so big that you don’t need to order an actual glass to do this.

And there you have it.

Words over-used in this post: “Great food”, “ridiculously”
