I d.a.r.e. you to cover your body in tattoo’s.
This morning when I got to my sisters house for work, her mother-in-law came over to pick up the kids. There was a show on T.V. about Jesse James, and he was talking about his tattoo’s. She starts in. “I don’t like that when men have all those tattoo’s.”
I sigh. Here we go.
She continues about how she doesn’t like when people get both their arms all covered up with tattoo’s. When there’s no way to cover them up. She has tattoo’s (nasty sailor ones that she got when she was on drugs in the 70’s) and she mentions that she got all of hers because of her ex-husband.
I told her I got mine because I love artwork, I am an artist, and I believe it shouldn’t matter if a girl has tattoo’s. She goes on telling me how her color in her tattoo’s are all faded and they look nasty. I tried to explain to her how times have changed, how it’s not just sluts and sailors anymore that have tattoo’s.
Tattoo’s can be beautiful. They can make people walking galleries.
I love my tattoo’s and I’m not going to give a shit when I’m 60 and covered.
I’m excited to not be like every other sterotypical view of a ‘Grandma’
I’m going to show my grandkids all of them and tell them stories of why I got them and when I got them, and I’m sure they will love them.
